Virtually a must, with a number of itineraries possible, lasting for a half-day, one day or several days to discover the Dordogne Valley’s 1001 chateaux.
It is also possible to go down the River Vézère, the cradle of prehistory.
Between 9 and 25 km.
A number of itineraries leave directly from the campsite and, beyond, a well-woven web of trails will introduce you to such examples of the typical heritage of the Perigord as bories, little dry stone houses, or dovecotes, ovens and windmills...
Cycling and Mountain-Biking
If you prefer flat ground, a cycling path begins 2.5 km from the campsite, along the banks of the magnificent Céou stream for around 30 km. The former railway line between Sarlat and Groléjac (10 km) or Sarlat and Saint-Julien-de-Lampon (around 20 km) has been turned into a cycling path.
Perigord is beautiful, but it is also hilly, so for the more adventurous visitors mountain-bike itineraries are available at the reception for you to follow near the campsite. There are also organised tours, so come and ask us for more details.
The cliffs along the River Dordogne and its tributaries are a unique place to discover and enjoy rock-climbing. Qualified instructors are on hand to guide you in perfect safety. The climbing equipment you need is provided (ropes, harnesses, climbing shoes) and the activity is organised on natural sites that are adapted to your level.
For visitors who want to discover the underground world. The region has kilometres of underground tunnels. A nearby club will help you discover this leisure activity. The guides provide all the necessary equipment.
Treetop adventure park
A sporting activity to share with your family. Trails leading from tree to tree according to your level. From 3 years old.
In a superb setting at the foot of a stream, opposite the prehistoric site of Cap Blanc stands the Chateau de Commarque. Here you can combine a discovery of the site with the practice of archery.
Pony or horse-riding
Whether you are a beginner or an expert, whether you want to go out for a ride or try out a sports course or you just want to accompany your children on a pony ride, come and see us, and we will give you all the details.
You can fish along the entire length of the campsite. 20 m from the campsite there is a pontoon that the locals often use (this must be a good sign :))
We can issue you with a fishing licence for one day, two weeks or one year.
Come to the reception for more information
A simple, but delightful leisure activity! Let yourself be carried along by the current, build some little dams out of pebbles, sunbathe, have a picnic, feed the fish...
The River Dordogne is now listed as a UNESCO World Biosphere Reserve – quite impressive, don’t you think?
